Mendon Ponds Park, East lodge
Sunday, September 11, 2022, Noon to 1:30pm
The theme of our next classic event taking place in Mendon Ponds Park on September 11th is “one extra K”. To align with the spirit of the Inflation Reduction Act, all courses have been extended by some 0.6 miles compared to our typical meet which means each participant will receive an extra kilometer of high quality orienteering absolutely free of charge while paying the standard registration fee.
Courses:
White/Beginner - 2.4km 8 controls 45m climb
Yellow/Intermediate - 3.7km 6 controls 65m climb
Orange/Long Intermediate - 4.5km 7 controls 90m climb
Brown/Short Advanced - 4.9km 8 controls 120m climb
Green/Advanced - 5.5km 10 controls 160m climb
Red/Long Advanced - 7.2km 10 controls 230m climb
Meet base is in the East Lodge. To minimize the number of competitive road crossing, both start and finish will be on the other side of Canfield Road.
Please note that at this time of the year the hard to get through vegetation (swallow, raspberry bushes, etc) in the park is at its peak. Therefore it’s highly recommended to wear long pants and not hesitate to go around if the woods appear impassable.
Thank you!
